Chance School offers partial financial aid to those families whose children
have been accepted in the program and demonstrate need for assistance. A refundable
registration fee of $100 is required to reserve your child’s spot at
Chance while applying for financial help. All families of current and new
students applying for financial aid for the 2007-2008 school year must complete
and submit the required forms to FACTS by March 8, 2007. Financial aid is
granted on a year-by-year basis. Priority is given at the elementary level
to achieve full enrollment, gender balance and diversity goals.
Elementary school students generate a list of topics that they wish to study
and themes are developed from the list. Topics might include the Human Body,
Mexico, Natural Disasters, the United States, Dinosaurs, and Space.
Results from the Stanford Achievement tests for the years 2001, 2002, 2003,
and 2004 - 63% of Chance fifth graders scored in the top third of students
as compared with 23% of their peers nationally.
Chance graduates transition successfully to next schools as validated by their
grades – over 95% were reported as A’s and B’s. This holds
true whether they attend private schools (approximately 60%) or public schools
(approximately 40%)
